Yaya! I’m so pleased to be in a show at GR2 with Yellena James and Elsa Mora. Saturday, April 16 (#1 friends Bday) 2011. I’m looking forward to meeting them and seeing amazing work at the opening.

Also, on the same night: Nucleus Gallery will be hosting the opening event for The Adventure Time Exhibit! I’ll have something in there, and I think my co-workers are going to make it a knockout as usual! The only thing not rad about this is that it’s on the same night as the GR opening across town, so I won’t be able to make it.

I should go paint
August 11, 2008
I must finish 2 paintings by tomorrow. Instead, I gave myself a short haircut which pleases me, and signed up with wordpress, which makes me excited. the deciding moment came a couple hours ago when I saw the Walker Treasury Project, which made me shout out loud something like “rah!” and inspires me to knit despite the weather.
As usual, it is hot and dry in Los Angeles, not great for knitting, but perfect for painting in oils. I’ve been wanting to do something with this ink drawing (below) which I made on a trip through the state of Puebla, where my relatives live. The belief that giant skeletons are buried beneath most hills has been mine since childhood, when I was 5, It was my assumption that there definitely WERE dinosaur remains in those hills around the 57 freeway, and for all I know, this is an accurate depiction of the cross section of said hills.
